Betty Lou Rhea Lamb was born in Sneedville, TN on January 3, 1925 and passed away on May 6, 2018. She was an avid member of Victory Baptist Church when she was in good health. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Bertha Rhea; former husband, Garrett Lamb; son, Esco Joe Lamb; 4 sisters, Dorothy, Jean, Mary and Noradale; and 6 brothers, Sonny, Paul, Edward, Mack, Tom and Bud. Betty is survived by her daughter, Margaret Lamb Coots and husband, Wade; daughter-in-law, Judith Lamb; 5 grandchildren, Tammy Coots Hicks and husband, Carl, Robyn Lamb, Greg Coots and wife, Kenitha, Crystal Salyer, and April Overbay and husband, Robert; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; special brother-in-law, Carson Lamb; and 2 sisters, Lucy Ramey of Dayton, OH and Celia Collins from Mooresburg, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Larry Morelock officiating. KINGSPORT - Clyde W. Busick, 62, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a period of declining health. Born in Lynchburg, VA on May 7, 1955, a son of the late Jim and Mary Busick, he has resided in this area his entire life. Clyde was a former over-the-road truck driver. He retired from Holston Valley Medical Center in 2013 following 13 years of service. Clyde will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, dad, papaw, brother, and friend who loved to mess with old lawn mowers.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Aileen Denis Busick; and one brother, Robert “Bob” Busick. Clyde is survived by his wife of 42 years, Maddline “Matt” Busick; daughters, Lisa Whitaker and ex-husband David, Amanda Wexler and husband Johnny, and Wilma Massengill, all of Kingsport; sons, Rickey (Rick) Busick, Kingsport, TN; Terry Michael Busick and wife Becky, Kingsport, TN; Johnny Salyer and wife Jimmie, Kingsport, TN; Sam Massengill of Jonesborough, TN; twelve grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patsy White and husband John of Gate City, VA, and Ruby Snodgrass and husband Robert of Hiltons, VA; two brothers, Ronnie Busick and wife Kathy of Kingsport, and Tommy Busick and wife Susan of Grand Junction, CO; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Bill Sluss, James Oaks, Sr.,  and his dog, Molly. ROGERSVILLE - Barbara Emma Knight, 73, was taken to heaven while surrounded by her family who loved her on Thursday, May 3, 2018. Barbara was born on September 25,1944 and was the daughter of William and Emma Heil. She graduated from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing.  She retired from her fifty year nursing career in September of 2017.  Forty-three of those years were spent working at Indian Path Hospital where she was nominated for the Servant’s Heart award for outstanding performance. Barbara is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Michael Knight; children, Michelle Maddux and Michael Knight; grandchildren, Maya, Elijah, Ester, Shiloh, and her special grandson Tucker Maddux; daughter-in-law, Cathy Knight and ex-son-in-law, Stephen Tucker Maddux; her brothers, Bill, Jim, Tom, John, and Kenny Heil; and many loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in downtown Kingsport. ROGERSVILLE - Gorman Lipe, age 73 of Rogersville, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends.  He was saved at an early age and attended Gills Chapel Baptist Church.  Mr. Lipe was retired from IPC & L.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U.S. Army.  Mr. Lipe served two terms as a Hawkins County Commissioner.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Bob" and Eve Cope Lipe; brother, Donald Lipe. Mrs. Martha Jackson Sanks of Raeford formerly of Kingsport, TN passed away at her home May 8, 2018 at the age of 92. Mrs. Sanks was born April 25, 1926 in Rockvale, TN to the late Grover Jackson and Velera Todd Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sanks and her daughter Barbara Sanks McNeill. She was a member of Raeford United Methodist Church. Mrs. Sanks is survived by her daughter Nancy Tapp (Barry) of Raeford, NC, 3 grandchildren, John Tapp, Velera Tapp Wyrick (Steve), Samantha McNeill Ringler (Brandon), 4 great grandchildren, Aiden Wyrick, Nathan Wyrick, Thomas Ringler, Bradley Ringler, and her brother Thomas Jackson (Jane) of Eagleville, TN. BIG STONE GAP, VA - Louella Mullins Swindall, 93, formerly a long-time resident of Pound, VA and recently living with her son in Big Stone Gap, VA, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at the Heritage Hall Health Care in Big Stone Gap, VA. Louella was born in Myra, KY. Her parents were James Roy Mullins and Lavona Osborn Mullins. As a youngster, she attended school in Jenkins, KY and was married afterwards to William Edward Swindall. William “Bill Ed” and Louella had one son, Ronnie Edward Swindall. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six of her sisters, Ruth, Thelma, Ada, Elaine, Virginia and Rebecca; and two brothers, Roy Jr and Walter E. Louella attended cake decorating school in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was a certified graduate and worked for many years creating beautifully decorated cakes for weddings and other occasions. She also enjoyed using her cooking and baking talents while entertaining friends and family. She was very giving of her time and skills to help others. She provided nursing care for her husband as well as for her mother and father during the last years of their lives. Louella was a very devout and longtime member of the church of Christ at Pound, where she attended the congregational services faithfully. She is survived by her son, Ronnie and wife Vickie; three grandchildren, Michelle Sisson and husband Evan, Nathaniel Edward Swindall and wife Amanda and Reuben Jay Swindall and wife Elizabeth Ann; two-greatgrandchildren, Isabella Grace and Sophia Elizabeth; brother, Curtis F. Mullins; sister, Carol Bentley; as well as a large number of close friends and other relatives. Funeral services for Louella Mullins Swindall will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. KINGSPORT - Roy “Moe” Cloud, Jr., 87, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 9, 2018.  Roy graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School class of 1950 where he was on the track and basketball teams.  He served 4 years in the US Navy during the Korean War  aboard the aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Saipan. He worked as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for over 30 years.  Roy was a TSSAA Referee for over 35 years. He belonged to the American Legion and was a member of Colonial Heights Methodist Church for 59 years.  For over 20 years, he honored servicemen and women by placing flags on their graves on Memorial Day.  He was involved in Colonial Heights Athletic Commission, coaching various sports and different levels.  He liked golfing, growing tomatoes and sitting by the fire. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hattie B. and Roy Cloud, Sr.; twin brother, Ray Cloud; brother, Paul Cloud; and sister, Betty Fincher. Roy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Alice “Tip” Lane Cloud; sons, Danny “Moe” Cloud of Church Hill, Johnny Cloud and wife, Ginger Louann, and David Cloud and wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Dane, Hayley, Lexi, Alanna, Chloe, Brody, Sydney Rose, Drew and Sarah; nieces, Tracie Fincher and Terri McCormick; nephew, Robert Cloud; and extended family in Virginia and Alabama. BLOUNTVILLE - John Thomas Wilson, 83, of Blountville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, May 8th, 2018.  Born in DeQueen, Arkansas to the late Jack and Goldie Wilson.  He was a decorated Korean War Veteran serving in the Navy. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy Wilson; son, Linn and Donna Wilson; daughter, Kristina and Jeffrey Vannoy; and several grandchildren. ROGERSVILLE - Don Pinkston, age 84, of Rogersville, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.  He was the owner and operator of Pinkston Pallet Co.  Mr. Pinkston was a member of Henard's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.  He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force.  Mr. Pinkston was an avid golfer and was known to many as "Pinky".  He was a founding member of the Hawkins County Rescue Squad.  During his time he served as Captain and President of the Board of Directors.  He was the acting President that played a key role by selecting the committee that established EMS of Hawkins County today.  Mr. Pinkston was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Mae Pinkston; infant son, Don Pinkston; son, Jerry Pinkston; sisters, Margaret Carter, Deanna Campbell and Willie Wisecarver. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Cleo Henard Pinkston; daughter, Sharon Southern and husband, Bill; son, Terry Pinkston, all of Rogersville; grandchildren, Ellie Southern, Maggie Southern, Chris Pinkston and wife, Patti, Alli Pinkston, Brandie McCracken and husband, Luke, Jacob Pinkston and  Bailey Pinkston;  sister, Betty Lois Wheeler and husband, Charlie of Morristown; daughter-in-law, Tina Pinkston of Rogersville; several nieces and nephews.  A special thank you to Amedisys Hospice.
