KINGSPORT - Jacqueline Joyce Watkins, age 85, of Kingsport, TN, departed this life on Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
Jacquie was born on January 27, 1932, in Atlantic City, NJ to the late Joseph Maurice Zucker and the late Gladys Sophia Zucker (Susanek). In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Joseph Clyde Watkins, Jr., brother in law Bud Norton, brother in law Howard Watkins, father in law Joseph Clyde Watkins, Sr and mother in law Pearl Watkins (Burgess).
Jacquie was a member of Waverly Road Presbyterian Church of Kingsport since 1951. She spent the majority of her career raising kids, doing volunteer work for the Waverly Road Church & various hospitals, going to high schools and giving talks about the dangers of smoking. She enjoyed her retirement continuing volunteer projects along with extensive travel and time with her grandchildren.
Jacquie leaves behind to mourn her passing her children Joseph Clyde Watkins, III (Jean de Jong), Fred Watkins (Tammi), Joy Bolea (Steve); her ten grandchildren: Daniel Watkins, Matthew Watkins, Andrew Watkins, Valerie Bolea, Laurel Watkins de Jong, Patrick Watkins, Nicole Bolea, Emily Watkins de Jong, Hilary Green (Watkins), Sean Bolea, step children Danielle Englehardt (TJ), Ryan Thayer (Beth), ; one brother, Fred Zucker (Edith); sister in law Ruth Norton (Watkins), brother in law Bob Watkins (Lynn), sister in law Winkie Watkins, nieces and nephews Robert Watkins, Steve Zucker, Pam Norton, Mike Watkins, Sharon Zucker, Brad Norton, Terry Watkins, Philip Zucker, Peter Watkins, Karen Watkins; and ten great grandchildren also survive.
Welcoming friends and family will be 6-8pm Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport and then again from 10am-11am Saturday prior to the service at the church. A funeral service to commemorate the life of Jacquie will follow at 12noon on Saturday, January 13, 2018 in the sanctuary of Waverly Road Presbyterian Church of Kingsport with Pastor Collin Adams and Dan Clark officiating. Following the service Jacquie will be laid to rest at East Lawn Memorial Park with friends and family serving as pallbearers.

Junior Taylor
DUFFIELD, VA - Robert “Junior” Taylor, 84, Duffield, VA passed away, Monday, January 8, 2018 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Taylor was born in Scott County, VA on December 13, 1933. He was the son of the late Robert Lee Vienne (Ward) Taylor
Junior was the last survivor of 14 children.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Katherine Rogers Taylor (2016); daughter, LeeAnna Freeman (1997), and son, Ricky Taylor (1994) preceded him in death.
His survivors include his daughter, Anna Mae (Tony) Reed; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
It was the wish of Junior to be cremated. The family will receive friends at his residence.

Ray Corder
NICKELSVILLE, VA - Ray Corder, Nickelsville, VA entered into eternal rest on January,10,2018 at Indian Path Medical Center after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Born in Coeburn, VA on June 12, 1935, he was the son of the late Lonnie James Corder and the late Frankie Gillenwater Robinette.
In addition to his father and mother, his loving wife, Glenna June Corder, and younger brother, Billy Joe Corder preceded him in death.
Ray was a former employee of Eastman Chemical Company and retired in 1993 from B-162 Technical Services (ECPI) after 25 years. He was a very successful businessman and entrepreneur of many businesses.
He purchased his first business in 1972 and over the years other businesses were built including; The Country Corral, Scotty’s Market, People’s Muffler Shop, Nickelsville Restaurant, NAPA Auto Parts, and Corder’s Market.
Ray was also responsible for negotiating and bringing a Pizza Plus to Nickelsville by constructing and leasing property to the Pizza Plus franchise. The Pizza Plus in Nickelsville has been in business for the last 25 years.
Ray took pride in all that he had accomplished and appreciated all the loyal customers that played a part in that success over the last 46 years.
People enjoyed being around Ray, for he loved to joke around and made people laugh. Many individuals came to Ray through the years and sought out his expertise in business and he kindly obliged. Ray was also very well respected by many people in the business community.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Tammy Corder, Nickelsville, VA, Greg Corder, Nickelsville, VA, and Scott and Michelle Corder, Church Hill, TN; five grandchildren, Derek Corder, Wesley Corder, Courtney Templeton, Clayson Corder, and Crewz Corder, as well as two great grandchildren, Logan Corder and Hunter Corder; along with several nieces and nephews, Dara Easterly, Angela Dale, John Collins, Tyler Tomlinson, and Dakota Tomlinson Dill.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2018 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Reverend Steve Collins officiating. A eulogy will be given by Thomas Hillman.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, VA. Steve Corder, Greg Corder, Scott Corder, Derek Corder, Wesley Corder, and Vannis Scalf will serve as pallbearers. Leonard Stallard, Thomas Hillman, and Ed Jennings will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home no later than 12:00 p.m. in order to go in procession to the cemetery for the graveside service.

KINGSPORT - Lois Ann Guy, 64, of Kingsport, TN, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
Lois was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family and loved serving the Lord. She was of the pentecostal faith for over 45 years. She was a great homemaker.
She will be forever missed but always in our hearts. Her family will love her forever and always. She is preceded by her parents, John Delancey and Joyce Neeley; her husband of 48 years and soulmate, Joseph Larry Guy; daughter, Jessica Allison Guy.

KINGSPORT - Phyllis Honeycutt Bell, 66 passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Dan Jr. and Iona Jones Honeycutt, brother: Chris Honeycutt and sister in law: Faye Honeycutt.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband: Larry Bell, son: John Christopher Smith and wife Mary, grandsons: Braydon, Alex and Cole Smith, step-daughter: Beverly Bell-Sambat and husband Brandon, granddaughter: Bailey Bell-Sambat and brothers: Dallas Honeycutt and Dee Honeycutt.
Phyllis graduated from Dobyns-Bennett, retired from Tennessee Eastman, and was a loving wife, mother, step-mother and grandmother.

Bertha Janette Oliver Foxx Conley
GRAY - Bertha Janette Oliver Foxx Conley, of Gray, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Holston Valley Hospital, in Kingsport.
She was the daughter of the late Robert Paul and Ora Glenna Bowers Oliver.
Janette graduated from Jonesborough High School in 1958. She worked as a secretary and then a Radio Copy Writer at WETB Radio Station in Johnson City, Co-owner of A.C. Foxx Masonry and owner of Janette's Fashions. She was a member of the Nolachuckey Grand View #194 and was a Past Matron.
Janette loved working outside in her flowers and making a garden. For several years she raised pygmy goats. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, cross-stitching, sewing and reading. She loved going camping with her husband, Charlie and loved watching Peyton Manning play football; she was one of his biggest fans. She was so proud to be a "Granny" to her great-nieces and nephew. She served as church organist at several churches she attended over the years.
Janette attended Colonial Heights Baptist Church and was a member of the Sunshine Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, Janette was preceded in death by her husbands, A.C. Foxx, Jr (1989) and Charles Harvey Conley (2016) her sister, Carolyn Oliver Gouge and brother-in-law James "Jim" Gouge, and a brother Robert "Wayne" Oliver.
Survivors include her special niece/caregiver Jana Wilson and husband Lee; nephew Jay Gouge and wife Kelley; great nieces, Cassie Sexton and husband Ben, Jaymee Gouge, and great nephew Joshua Wilson; great-great niece Ali Sexton all of Gray, TN; one stepson and his wife Georgia; special cousin Joyce Leigh May and her husband Riley, Charlotte, NC; longtime friend Susan Wheeler; sister-in-law Lillian Oliver; Nancy Gouge; her kitty, Sophie; Several nieces, nephews, cousins, host of other family members and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Wellmont Hospice, Wilcox Hall 3rd Floor at Holston Valley Hospital and especially, Lexie, Sherry, Abby, Adis, Jenny, Tammy and Rhonda for the excellent care she received and all the staff at Brookdale Colonial Heights for the loving care during her stay there. All the ladies in the Sunshine Class at Colonial Heights Baptist for their love and support over the past few years.

Ella worked at Hillside Manor for 16 years. She attended the Church of Jesus Christ in Yuma, VA and loved listening to gospel music and watching ministers on TV.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Ed Collins; 2nd husband, Clarence Collins; parents, Mary and John Johnson; son, Danny Collins, daughter-in-law, Debra Collins; and sisters, Velma, Ray, Patsey, Joyce and Violet.
Ella is survived by her sons, Jerry Collins and wife, Sharon, and Tommy Collins and wife, Maria; step-daughter, Joyce Wells; grandchildren, April, Toby, Josh, Cory, Anthony and Andrew; many great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Clenita Blevins.

FALL BRANCH - Kathy Maskew, 43, Fall Branch died Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Kingsport, she had lived in this area all of her life. She was a graduate of Daniel Boone High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from ETSU. Kathy was a service provider for veterans through Citi Bank. She was an outstanding mother.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Hayes and sister, Sharon Shamp.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Jeremy Maskew; son, Elijah John “E. J.” Maskew; father, Jimmy Hayes; brother, Tim Hayes; one nephew and several nieces; and other family and friends who will cherish her memory.

KINGSPORT - Savannah Lee Roller, 20, Kingsport, TN, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
Savannah was born on June 8, 1997 to Robert Jerry Roller and Tamara Bloyd Roller. She was a 2015 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and was currently a student at Northeast Community College.
She is survived by her parents Jerry and Tamara Roller, her sister, Summer Lynn Roller, several aunts and uncles and many cousins.
Savannah had a great passion for the outdoors. She particularly loved hunting and fishing with her dad. Savannah also loved the water and was experienced at sailing. Savannah was a beautiful person inside and out. She lived life to the fullest and everyone who knew her was touched by her kind and giving heart.

She was the oldest living member of Hubert's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her mother, Nell Stuffle West; husband, Ellis C. McGinnis; brothers, G.W. West, and Jessie Lee West.
She retired from Magnavox, in Morristown, and attended the Senior Citizens Center, in Rogersville, where she enjoyed her Bible study and exercise program.
Minnie is survived by her loving son, Hughie McGinnis; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 12:00 until 2:00 pm at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Tracy Clifford officiating. The graveside service will be held on Saturday in Quarryville Cemetery.

Sherwood M. "Woody" Caldwell
KINGSPORT - Sherwood M. “Woody” Caldwell, 80, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord early Thursday morning January 11, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol.
He was born in Lynchburg, VA and had resided in Kingsport since 1966. He was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnical Institute with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He retired from Eastman Chemical Company after 33 years of service as a Sr. Engineering Associate. He was a member of Holy Mountain Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was a deacon of the church. He was especially proud teaching Biblical Creation Class at his church.
Following retirement he enjoyed fly fishing, hunting and being outdoors.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Leighton A. Caldwell.
Woody is survived by his wife of 56 years, Hazel Dowdy Caldwell; children, Cathy Hembree and husband Bill, David L. Caldwell and wife Lori; grandchildren, Austin Bell, Casey Hackett and husband, Jessee, Evan Bell, Matt Hembree, Grace Caldwell and Jackson Caldwell; great-grandson, Levi Hackett; brother, Raymond Caldwell; niece, Sherida Leslie; along with many friends.
The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 6 pm on Saturday January 13, 2018 at Holy Mountain Baptist Church, 3121 Ashley Street, Kingsport, TN 37664. A funeral service will follow at 6 pm at the church with Pastor Jerry Musick, Pastor Tim Price officiating. Music will be provided by Sue Watts.
