NICKELSVILLE, VA - Buford Vernon Compton, age 75 of Nickelsville, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Johnson City Medical Center. The family will receive friends Wednesday March 23, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, VA and anytime at the home. Masonic service will follow at 8 PM, followed by funeral service with Rev. Steve Collins officiating. Music will be provided by Pine Grove Harmony. Graveside service will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 11 AM in the First Baptist Church of Nickelsville . Cemetery. Military honors provided by the American Legion Post #3/265 and Virginia National Guard. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10 AM. Pallbearers will be his nephews; Tom Stallard, Tim Stallard, Greg Robinson, Gary Compton, Stacy Ford, Adam Meade, Marty Ford, Barry Compton, Luke Gillenwater and Tony Keith. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Powers, Jarvis Vicars, Dick Amburgey, Jim Glovier, Bobby Horne, Donnie Dingus, Howard Keith, John Stapleton and Titan Pride Travel Softball Team.
