KINGSPORT - George Washington Chapman, age 84 of Kingsport, was taken up into the glory of Heaven to live eternally with his Heavenly Father Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 5, 2016. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Brother Kenny Hammonds officiating. There will be a Military Honor’s graveside service for George on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 3:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Apostles. Serving as pallbearers will be T. Landon Starnes, Dustin M. Starnes, Austin M. Chapman, David R. Chapman, Daniel B. Chapman, and Alex D. Christian. Pallbearer Memoriam will be Aaron Travis Starnes. Military honors will provided by American Legion Post 3/265. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Legion Post of Kingsport, TN, Temple Baptist Church of Kingsport, or the charity of your choice.
