DUFFIELD, VA - Guy Edgar Carter, 83, Duffield, VA passed away, Monday, February 29, 2016 at his residence with his family by his side. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Denny Hass officiating. The Hass Family singers will provide the music. A Military graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Cox Cemetery, Mabe Community of Scott County, VA. Services will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA assisted by members of the Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard. Family land Friends will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service. Gate City Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Guy Edgar Carter.
